Live Employment / Education Platform

KUCIAP

The Kenya University and College Industrial Attachment Portal, connecting students seeking attachment with organisations offering placements.

Overview

KUCIAP is a platform intended to connect students seeking industrial attachment opportunities with organisations offering placements, through student profiles, employer connections, opportunity discovery and skills and course-based matching.

Problem being addressed

Industrial attachment is a graduation requirement for many programmes, yet finding a placement often depends on personal contacts and informal channels.

Why it matters

Attachment is a gate to graduation and to early work experience. Making placement discovery less dependent on who a student happens to know widens access.

Solution

A portal where students build profiles and discover opportunities, and organisations list placements and find candidates by course and skill.

My role

Founder and developer. I designed and built the platform and maintain it.

Challenges encountered

Two-sided platforms only work when both sides are present, and matching students to placements needs care to be genuinely useful.

Lessons learned

Marketplace problems are organisational as much as technical.

Future direction

Grow organisational participation and improve matching.
